Ownership of Roadway

Is there a way of finding out who owns a roadway in front of my property as the council say it is not owned by them.

Your title deeds may give some clues or make an application from the land registry.0

yes - you do an index map search aka "SIM" search of the area in question. This will come up with the title number if it registered. If you then get an official copy of the title, this will reveal the owner.0

If it's not listed on land registry:

Online or postal search as others have advised. If it's registered then you can identify the legal owner. If it's not then we don't know.
Investigating adjoining titles may offer clues as to the ownership depending in what rights to use it exist and/or whether the same builder built the road and houses.
Often you might find some clues but nothing definitive. And if an old build strong possibility builder no longer exists or around.
So if unregistered the better option can be thinking more about why you want to find the owner and what legal options exist to deal with the reason itself“Official Company Representative
