And a funny bit is that She have not only unfriended me on FB( not a big deal as I understand that she don't want me on her friends list) but blocked me too. Like.. I don't even message her there or anything.
And she have blocked another parent who gave her notice last Friday and they have not had any argument or anything. I think she is doing that just in case if I would post something about her but... childish!0 -
Thanks everyone.
We did agreed to pay her 3 weeks instead of 4 but honestly I am shocked of her unprofessionalism.
It's done and dusted but just could not believe the lengths she would go, apparently there have been someone before who did not pay her(she told us that her insurance has claimed money from these parents, but I'm not sure of their circumstances).
I already told my new childminder what happened, so that she is aware in case ex childminder does go and tell tales about us as they both do the same schools on the school run.
Whilst insurance companies can payout whatever they like, they are in no different position to the childminder when it comes to court. And a funny bit is that She have not only unfriended me on FB( not a big deal as I understand that she don't want me on her friends list) but blocked me too. You can still post about her, she just wont see it now0 -
My wife is a childminder and has had a parent owe her a 4 figure sum before, (long story). The insurance company will offer legal advice on her position and assist in recovering money if feasible. In this case I'm 100% certain they would recommend not pursuing action as her sickness and lack of notice should not be paid for.
Childminders themselves know who the bad eggs are as they're the one's who are always losing parents. They won't be listening to this particular ladies tales about you, so please don't be concerned about finding future child care.
I wouldn't take any recommendations off her though!Pants0 -
I'd be surprised if local childminders don't already know about your ex-childminder's unprofessional behaviour.loose does not rhyme with choose but lose does and is the word you meant to write.0

gosh I wonder if this is our old childminder?!
She used to mind our son an hour, 3 times a week after school. All was good to start with but when I fell pregnant, she started hounding me in the mornings at school and texting and emailing me incessantly about what I would be doing after my mat leave. I told her I was having a full year off work and would discuss childcare nearer the time. She wanted me to pay a retainer for my son when I was on mat leave and to sign a contract and pay a deposit for our new baby (not born yet!). I felt like I was being forced to make decisions when I didn't know what my work shifts would be etc.
The last straw was when, weeks away from giving birth, she started shouting at me in the playground saying she was losing money because of me as we hadn't agreed to pay a retainer for my son and deposit to secure a place for the baby. I was absolutely mortified and emailed her notice later on that day, my son never went back to her and she avoids me like the plague now:rotfl::j:jOur gorgeous baby boy born 2nd May 2011 - 12 days overdue!!:j:j0
