Might a local women's refuge also have access to legal advice?
OP, as Hazyjo said, never call yourself 'stupid' and never allow someone else to make you believe you are. It's not difficult!
'Wander' - to walk or move in a leisurely manner.
'Wonder' - to feel curious.0 -
Womens Aid do offer one stop shops where legal/benefit/general advice is available?
However, legal aid for legal services is very limited.
But it would be worth going to a one stop shop and clarifying what options are possible.
You can look at their website, find out the phone number of their local group and see if there are any one stop shops anywhere near you. They can also refer you to courses that help you sort out the mess a person's head is often in after being in an abusive relationship.
I hope you are able to find some assistance. It is never easy but arm yourself with knowledge.0 -
Thankyou everyone for your advice.
I'm going to contact Womens Aid this evening as i've got the night off work. I know people always say they are 'too busy', but i have been working double shifts every day, and the odd night off i get i've just been catching up on sleep
I'm also going to see if i can take some time off during my day job to go to the citizens advice bureau in my town. They have been quite understanding of my situation so it should be fine.
Easier said than done not to blame yourself sometimes
