Grant of Probate in Northern Ireland

Hi all,


Very quick and easy question I hope.


I am attending a probate interview next week in Belfast, Northern Ireland.


All I need to know is if I will receive the Grant of Probate at that meeting. I now live in England I am having to travel to NI for the meeting and would like to know if I can handle things like bank affairs on that trip so I would need the Grant that day to do so.

We contacted the office directly and due to the needs to travel and us informing them in advance, they can expedite the printing and provide it to us before we leave. Magic.

See https://www.nidirect.gov.uk/articles/applying-probate which says grant will be sent by post soon after interview. My recollection when applying for my mother was the letter arrived within 7 days.

Yea I saw that but I was hoping that in reality it was the same day and they're just covering themselves. Oh well.
