  • Thanks SpanishBlue, that must be why I have 60 minutes as we don’t have fibre and I pay extra for the anytime calls.

    Hi bjbyorkshire

We are introducing a £4 charge for the TV service from February. We have more information about this on our help page - https://community.talktalk.co.uk/t5/Articles/TalkTalk-TV-pricing-is-changing/ta-p/2279095 the fee will still give you access to our award winning TV service, on demand players, the ability to pause and rewind live TV and the option to add multi-room.

If you wish to discuss this further with us there is a chat button on the help page to allow you to chat with one of the team to discuss your options in regards to this.

Your question regarding call times. You can call other TalkTalk landlines from your own TalkTalk landline for upto 180 minutes (3 hours) at a time for free. Before the 3 hours is up just hang up and redial to continue the free call. More details can be found on our help page regarding call charges - https://community.talktalk.co.uk/t5/Articles/UK-call-costs/ta-p/2205242

    Hi Oxygenkiosk

I am sorry if you do not wish to continue with our TV service. The £4 fee does still provide some great savings compared to other companies and still gives you access to our award winning TV service.

We have some details about the change and the option to chat to us about this on our dedicated help page - https://community.talktalk.co.uk/t5/Articles/TalkTalk-TV-pricing-is-changing/ta-p/2279095 if you have access to our TV service the charge would apply. You can check via MyAccount to see if this is the case for you or you can chat to us on the chat button on that help page.

  • talk talk representative,
I have spoken to a customer services advisor and cancelled the £2 reject Anonymous caller package for which I received an e mail saying this was no longer going to be charged on my account.

I also asked that the £4 charge for the TV package to start in February also be removed and not charged for but I did not receive an e mail confirming that this was also cancelled so I am unsure as to whether this has in fact been cancelled.

Do I need to remove the Talk Talk box from my TV set in order not to be charged for the service that I do not want?

    Thank you

I don't understand this charge. If one has a Talktalk TV package, why is there an extra charge?

Words, words, they're all we have to go by!.

(Pity they are mangled by this autocorrect!)
  • They don't make it easy to cancel. Live Chat doesn't seem to work. Phone helpline has an incomprehensible set of automated responses, which if you're lucky enough to negotiate just leaves you on hold (or asks for your mobile number - why?).

I wasn't even aware I still had TV on my account (only have the youview box from a previous contract period), so certaintly don't want to be paying £4 a month for it. Not happy.

The boxes should still work for Freeview watch/record and the BBC would be extremely upset if iPlayer was not provided free... as might other PSB catchup providers.

Only the pay TV channels (streamed via the internet) should be subject to viewing restriction unless the £4/mth fee is paid.

So no-one should need to buy a newer box to continue much as they have done before.

Sooner or later it will have to be added into the TT Account web pages as a add/remove package?
  • Eventually managed to get live chat working. After 20+ minutes of chatting, at last managed to get the £4 charge cancelled.
  • Ashboy, Will you leave your you view box plugged into the tv even though you won’t be watching Talk Talk tv channels or catch up? I’m still not sure how this will work. Will you Leave the box plugged in as it is but don’t watch any catch up or remove the box and keep it? Did I buy it in the first place, not sure.
  • New Query to Thread title "Talk talk another price increase query"
    ========================================

I have received an e-mail notifying me that TalkTalk voicemail PLUS will be charged £1 per months from my September 2019 Bill. When I enter Boosts from 'My Accounts' I find it is actually chargeable from August 2019! ..... and any calls to STANDARD voicemail (1571) will now be chargeable at 2p a time.

Yet another price increase from TalkTalk.

Has everyone been hit with these new additional charges ?
