  • Economy energy have owed me a rebate since last October . I phoned them this morning , only to hear a recorded message saying they had gone into administration . They are not registered with the Ombudsman Service . Please , does anybody know how I can get back the money they owe me ?

In brief, you should get your refund from Ovo, who have taken over EE's customers. Unfortunately, this is likely to take some time.

theres a lot of conflicting info regarding this on ovo help topics ie contact ovo to register your claim by email or phone i did both and one of there support workers on the phone refused to take my details and no reply to 2 emails i sent as a last resort i found ovo on face book and lo and behold within 24 hours of posting on there page i am now expecting my refund within the next couple of days.

well i never cease to be amazed today i received my credit refund for the electricity that has been owed by ee since last september.BUT where is my gas credit refund i sent by pm on there fb site asking about it and the reply ( Hi Steeve, I've checked your property on the national database and it looks like Eon supply you for gas. Your gas supply hasn't transferred over to us so we wouldn't be able to provide a refund.)
I say again my gas and electricity where switched to eon last September so why are they saying my electricity has been transferred to them.Aside from that the credit refund for the electricity is less than what was on my final bill and on checking my online account with ee i see they have added a new statement!!!!!!

I think there is going to be quite a number in a similar position if EE have extensively massaged final bills as has been posted on these forums.

in my case its not a lot so not worth the hassle of fighting them over it.However the gas it seems from reply to my pm no details have been sent over from ee for gas only electricity ive responded and attached my final bill for gas from ee im asumming due to knowing how good ( joke)ee are they have neglected to send the gas over as with ee its the one account number for both gas and electricity even though they are paid with 2 dd.So other people take note make sure you have old statements from ee at the ready

I would just make the point, again, that in the long run the more consumption that is charged at EE's rates the better off you are likely to be in the long run. It's clear from posts on here that Ovo's rates are somewhat higher than EE's were so, unless you are really strapped for cash in the short term, why worry about it anyway?.

It will interesting to hear of Ovo's reaction when former EE customers start sending their first meter readings if these are lower than EE's closing readings. :rotfl:

i left ee last September so im not affected by ovo and there prices thank heaven but rely on ovo for my credit refunds.its just a pity it wasnt sorted b4 i went on holiday but ill have it for the next one.Ive learnt one thing from this and thats in the future i will be asking for any credit balance i build up to be refunded.I have a credit balance now so will be looking at getting that refunded b4 it mounts up any more
