Watch your toilet paper consumption - A roll used to last me the best part of a week. With the last pair, it went down to a roll per day even after "she" went. Got fed up having to rod out the drains on a weekly basis. House rules and rent need to be enforced rigorously. If you let things slide, it can very quickly turn sour when the resentment kicks in.
So you're watching toilet paper consumption, it goes up too much... what do you do about it? Have discussions about how much toilet paper your (adult?) lodgers are using? :rotfl:
I had a similar experience where I was convinced one particular housemate (in my student days) used an entire roll of loopaper in a single sitting. I didn't like to enquire in case there was some sort of medical issue, and figured I could have worse housemates as otherwise he wasn't a problem!0 -

Yes. Discuss TP consumption, and try to identify any health or cultural issues that would account for excess usage. Then move on to who is responsible for rodding out the drains when they get blocked - If necessary, hand over the rubber gloves & rods and get him/her to deal with the blockage. Her courage will change the world.
Treasure the moments that you have. Savour them for as long as you can for they will never come back again.0 -

I had to go into my lodger's room to close the window when it started to rain, then I noticed several rolls of TP on her desk! I worked out she was regularly taking a roll to her room to use for make up etc, instead of buying a personal box of tissues. Not wanting to make a scene, I looked around for cheaper supplies! Years ago I lodged with a friend in his house (stayed about 2 years). The last 12 to 18 months weren't very pleasant and not helped by a dreadful industrial injury that he suffered. Once I moved out relations improved no end. So I echo other posters and be very wary that your friendship doesn't suffer.0
