Tiling around shower tray - is this OK?

Hi,
I like to ask some input/advice on the tiling around the shower tray in our new build house.
This was meant to be relatively easy weekend job - remove the mouldy sealant and start afresh - but I am concerned about the tiling I've exposed. Specifically:
These gaps look excessive (the largest is probably 8mm)
The tiles don't go down to the shower tray - should they sit on the shower tray or go behind it (overlapping)?
The grout doesn't continue down to the shower tray in places
I gather there should be some sort of tanking around the tray itself. Therefore am I good to go, reseal and be be done with it. Or is this a leak waiting to happen?
By way of background, we are 1 year into this house and still have customer service support from the developer.
Thanks

I think I'd be more concerned about the gap in the corner. How wide is that?0

That's a leak waiting to happen, imo.
The tray hasn't been butted to the wall. If it had, then the tiles would sit on the tray. The idea is that is that you butt the tray tight to the wall, seal the joint to the wall with silicon and then you fit the tiles, then seal again with silicon. They've obviously just filled a gap that shouldn't really exist with silicon.
How far away from the wall must the tray be for great big tiles like that to not meet the tray.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

I can't edit for some reason. It's silicone, not silicon.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Thanks both.
Yeah, it’s the gap on the right that is about 8mm, couldn’t say if it extends the full height of the wall.0 -
Can you get any spare tiles o/p? I think this is going to need re-doing.
Don't let the builder near it though. It looks like the enclosure was made too large for the shower tray. You need to strip off tiles & plasterboard, and fur out the studs with thin lengths of timber. Then re-board with aquapanel, and re-tile in due course.0
