Halifax mmm Bad Start

I wondered if Halifax is normally this poor

I applied for the current account online on the
12th of October, since then all I have had off
them is a on-line banking password and ATM card pin
number.

I haven't even had a letter to say my account
has been opened all though it has a valid account
number showing on the on-line banking.

No card has arrived no paying in book or cheque
book, no forms to arrange the swap from my HSBC
account, I called them last week to ask them what
was going on, they said the card must of been lost
in the post so will resend it, then this morning a letter
comes with my PIN for the 2nd time still no card, I also
asked them about the account switching they said it was
in hand even though they haven't sent me any paperwork

then to top it all of I asked why I haven't had any of the
usual stuff through when you open a account, and the rep
then told me there were trying to cut-down on sending letters!

They have give me £300 overdraft when I said I didnt want one
, but they dont seem to beable to get the basics right

   maybe I have made a very bad choice with the Halifax

  • You should have gone into a branch to do it! At least then you would be able to tell them what you want, bit easier talking to a person that a computer.
  • I have recently opened a Halifax account and had internet password then a letter saying that you need to deposit £100 before we send anything further - I explained that I wanted to transfer my wages etc but they would not do this without first depositing £100!!!
I have since had problems with my new mortgage and have decided that I will be closing this new redundant Halifax account ASAP!
