Hello everyone, I took a flying start to the day and prepped loads of veg, some for a casserole and others for soup. Then was out for the Sunday stroll. So I didn't look at the internet until after lunch.

Poppy, thanks for posting. Sending gentle hugs to you, taff and dumpling, snoozer, nmlc, Csarina, Gers, silver oldie and everyone else unwell or affected by loved ones' ill health.

dp1, I hope that mother and babe continue to thrive. I still smile like a loon thinking of my one month old granddaughter :). Every photo an absolute joy to receive :A

This afternoon the table top Christmas tree finally gets packed away. I've got my eye on another non Christmassy LED tree which would supply the required light and lift to the spirits during the dark weeks of midwinter. We do need cheery things. So pleased that you are getting so much pleasure and comfort from your chair, Gers. A great investment, keeping warm and comfortable is a key requirement for wellbeing.

Time to get on in the kitchen, soups and casserole calling. I hope you all have the best afternoon and evening possible. xxx

Think I joined the party in virtual mode - an elderly neighbour called in, sat in my new chair and drank a very large dram, I accompanied him with a medium G&T. Now on my second one...:j

I've done so much in the house, all to avoid doing any 'real' work which now needs done tomorrow morning. It's been too mild to light the woodburner so it's ready for tomorrow.

A washing load has been done, the white cotton rugs needed a quick wash and are now hanging in the spare room. Dishwasher has run though too. I've boiled four eggs which needed used up so are now mashed with mayo ready for breakfasts this week. A small rubbish sack has been filled. More stuff added to CS pile. Coffee table cleared of detritus and cushions plumped. Other stuff taken out to the room of doom aka the small barn and lots of paper put into the recycle bin. Now I'm almost ready for work tomorrow, apart from doing any marking that is.:rotfl:

No washing in my suitcase and now flying through the air like a female Snowman to redruby's place. Bottle of gin in one hand a tube of P ringles in the other. Watch out for me!

Just a quickie from me as I'm off to relax in a lovely bath with my last Lush bath bomb from Christmas..
I met my new granddaughter today!!! She is so tiny - even smaller in real-life than she looks in photos. Nurses say she is doing really well - daughter even got to change her nappy today and should get to hold her in the next few days.
DD is doing really well too, though she is very sore - she is coping very well with the strangeness of everything.
I just wish they weren't so far away - it took nearly 2 hours to get to them today - but they're in the best place and I'll see them again on Friday.

Late posting, got up late, got out early, came back late, looked after OH a bit [proper flu, so look out immune system, don't think I'm going to avoid this one] and this is the first time to look at the internet...
BBQ went wll, food was amazing if you like meat which I do. Will see if he will cater for one this summer when all the gubbins is over with...
Took the decs down, was talking to a german friend over lunch today, she was saying they keep twinklies p all year in some parts of Germany and I must admit, I do like them, so am going to have to find somewhere to put them so they cheer me up. I was looking out the back the other day and we have a string of solar powered ones, but the times when you need them most, in the winter, there's not enough sun to keep them going...a serious design flaw.

Am feeling motivated to do some tidying in the front garden tomorrow, the compost has to be moved to I can test my theory next year re ash and fir leaves, and I need a clean compost bed for that. I've already chucked two buckets of ash in there and it's clumping too much...
I've also ferreted out the multivits with iron and vit D to see how they get on...

WeeMidgie, a month already! time flies! Gers, you should really be calling dibs on your chair otherwise all of your neighbours are going to come in for a sit in it...Poppy, good to hear from you, hope things stay better for you. I'm OK btw, not happy but then it could be worse...Someone said party? No problem! I have some really disgusting alcoholic stuff to give away :) A moroccan liver dish? This sounds interesting...:)
    Happy pre-Monday evening
