A+L Visa Debit card

All,

I've been trying to figure out what type of card you receive when you open a new Premier direct A+L account. I understand it is a Visa debit card but I've read various discussions about some cards not working in self service machines (petrol pumps, railway ticket machines).

What are the different types of Visa debit card and which do you receive from A+L?

Cheers in advance.

The card your probably on about is an Electron, this card doesnt work everywhere as it requires authority as you make a payment. What you realy want is the VISA debit card which will work in everything as it works in a similar way to credit cards ie: It doesnt require pre auth for every payment.

If you get the VISA card depends on your credit rating. Have you been made BR or had CCJ's?....

No, not made BR or had and CCJs. I am young (22), but I'm not sure if this affects anything. I've also fully paid of my student loan, but again I am unsure if this would influence my rating.
  • it could be the 2 in 3 card its still a visa debit card but no chque bit on the back as a & l have done away with electron cards now
  • well i joined a+l 2 months ago, and its a normal visa debit...not had one problem at all with it. And i highly recommed their online banking, much better than nationwide and barclays in my eyes.
