Financial associate issue

Hi all
Looking for a bit of advice as a first time poster
Bit of background, my partner and I are married but share no financial accounts. She has an adverse credit history so will be applying for a mortgage in just my name.
I recently applied for a mortgage through my broker with NatWest, everything was going well to get the AIP but when processing it came back with an error of a linked financial associate.
Now, when looking at my Equifax credit file she is listed as a financial associate from June 2018 when we applied for a mortgage together. This did not go through, mainly due to the building society making an error, so we did not open an account with them at all and have not made any payments to them.
I’ve got an open case with Equifax logged asking them to remove the link as I don’t think it’s valid.
Has anyone been in this position before? Do you think Equifax will remove the link based on this information?
I’m worried that this will definitely affect me getting a mortgage going forward if they refuse to remove it
Thanks

You’ll need to check all 3 CRA’s and file a notice of disassociation with each of them.
This can take a few weeks as the CRA’s need to confirm with the financial institutions in question that there definitely is not a link anymore0 -
Did you fill in their notice of disassociation form? As long as there are no open joint accounts they should remove.
Be advised though, a lot of mortgage lenders will only lend to married persons if it's a joint application ie they will not let a married person apply in their own name only0 -
Read this for the difficulties in a married person applying on their own:

I haven’t yet filled in a notice of dissociation, but I will do now thanks to your advice!
Thanks also for that link, it’s very helpful. My salary is enough to cover everything comfortably and she is not financially dependent on me so I’m hoping they will take this into account if I end up having to go elsewhere.0
