Hi Ian
Thanks for your reply which I understand and agree with.
These are the settings I will use ie 5 and 15 C for frost and pipestat respectively
Cheers0 -
Out of interest/ curiosity why do Honeywell recommend 25C as the setting for their pipestat . Most posters suggest about 10 to 15 degrees !!
Thanks0 -
The pipe stat setting doesn't matter very much.
At long as it is significantly above 1 and you take into account its tolerance (which is quite a bit on these) it will do the job fine (with little difference to economy)0 -
Thanks Andy
What do you mean by”significantly above 1”. What/ which 1
Thanks0 -
1 degree C0

Thanks Andy,
I know the tolerance ( differential ) from Honeywell, which is 10C, so my 15C , from an earlier post should be OK.
All a bit of a black art. !!!0 -
Anyone have any ideas why Honeywell reccomend 25C for the pipestat setting temp. This figure will be 45C or so at boiler , plus the pipestat differential giving 55C. No wonder post on other forums complain of being toasted
Thanks0 -
Outgoing maybe 45
But you are pumping cold water back in so it needs to ensure some warmth is kept in the boiler.0 -
Hi Andy
If the pipestat closes at 25C ( fitted on cold return near boiler) , then the water will be at 25-ish everywhere in the parts that are in the garage. So I don’t see this any different to a cold start on a hot summer morning
What am I missing?
