Kitchen sink height and choice

We plan to use IKEA kitchen and wondering if anyone knows if sink bought elsewhere can fit in IKEA sink unit?

We have gas and water meter right under the sink too. I wanted a extra deep belfast sink but not sure if the meters are in the way. I'm searching for the biggest/deepest sink I can find to fit in a 60cm sink unit. Is there a guideline to know how much space I need below the sink?

Thanks.

I fit the finished worktop height at 910mm which is a common height as minimum. So with a 30mm worktop your sink unit height would be 880mm.

Now take the sink you wants depth and measure that depth below 880mm (or whatever it would be with your chosen worktop) on the kitchen wall to see what clearance you have from the meters.

Also remember you will need to fit the waste trap and all that gubbins underneath the sink. You will also have to allow room to access, and if necessary in the future change, the meters, you don't want to end up having your kitchen removes because the meter is bust.

I like very deep sinks. Being well over 6 feet tall there is no way I can do the washing up in a sink that is only 2 feet off the ground.
Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.

Does anybody have a sink that low?

Haven't you seen them? Work surface at about 900mm, thick wooden worktop with a 300mm sink slung underneath. It really is a good excuse for not helping with the washing up.

Surely you need a shallow sink not a deep one?

I obviously don't mix in the right circles as I've never known anyone with a sink like that :D
