I might try matched betting, but I'm not too confident with it yet...more reading up I guess!

Definitely worth it, in my opinion. As Tim says, you could easily make enough for what you want to do - although it might be wiser just to do the matched betting and hang onto your profits. I spent a week in Vegas this year and didn't lose a penny gambling; there are other things to do there as well as the casinos :)

  • Hate to be a killjoy, mate, but if you could raise £2,500 you are not far off having enough to buy a small business franchise. Mine cost £4,000 and (after a bit of effort) keeps myself and wife in food, housing and hols. Postpone the trip until your 25th birthday and concentrate on some way of getting the hol plus an income before that time.

If you're not on benefits then definitely go for matched betting, and good luck to you. You'll probably find that you'll get a bit less inclined to blow your bank at Vegas when you have, it comes with the territory.

Finding a job is more important than a poker holiday but if you must go...Do you have a car? I saw a company advertising for drivers to deliver leaflets. Can you not find a christmas job? Temp? Walk dogs? There must be something if you are willing to do anything (within limits ;) ) Become a cleaner, they are always wanted

I agree. If I don't find a job then I'm not going, simple as. I was just posting to get ideas to tide me over until I do find the job.

I'm kinda limited on what work I can do because of a knee injury, which sadly isn't serious enough for IB or DLA but stops me standing on my feet for long periods of time, so generally I stick to office jobs...of which there is none at the moment.

Tim, do you have some sort of beginners guide to MB? I tried the forum thread...but it's disappeared :(
