Hi all.

I use Microsoft Outlook to send/receive emails. Is it possible to disable all links embedded in received emails?

Thanks but I'm stuck at the first hurdle. Where do I find " File | Options | Mail | Editor Options | AutoCorrect Options | AutoFormat."

When I open Outlook, I don't have "File...." just a settings cogwheel and none of the settings options mention hyperlinks.

I seem to remember that there's Outlook and Outlook Express - do the instructions you suggest relate to the Express version?

If you cannot get to File | Options then sounds like you've hidden your tool/menu bar.

Press Alt to get the file menu drop down

Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

Thanks guys but I think we must be talking at cross purposes here.

To be clear, I have a Win 10 laptop and I use Microsoft Outlook to send/receive emails. I use the Chrome browser (but I've just tried Edge and it's no better).

I can find no way to 'unhide' the menu/toolbar and my Outlook doesn't remotely look like your image grumpycrab. Pressing Alt does nothing.

    Is there some confusion??

Are you using Outlook online, via a web browser, or are you using the stand alone Outlook program provided as part of Office 365 / Office 2016 / Office 2012 etc?

I assume you are not talking about the basic mail app that comes as part of Windows 10?

I'm using the online version - viewed on a Chrome Browser tab. I don't have an Office suite of programs. I use LibreOffice.

So that's where the confusion lies.

    Indeed!

Hopefully somebody will now be able to answer your question but I am afraid I have no experience of Outlook via a web browser.
