Thanks, option 2 sounds like something to try. Are you talking about linking normal batteries together e.g. AA batteries, if so how? are there any YouTube videos with someone doing it.

AA batteries aren't really ideal as they can't deliver too much current. You really need either C or D cells or depending on the voltage, a couple of PP3 batteries.
What is the voltage of the drill or rechargeable battery?

AA/AAA batteries will deliver 1.5V (alkaline) or ~1.2V (rechargeable*) at best.

    * The rechargeable ones I have all state they're 1.2V, there may be makes with a different voltage.

True, but it wasn't voltage I was referring to but the current that can be supplied from each cell.

    Hi,

    The battery details are BL1813G 18V 24Wh 1.3Ah
    &
the drill details are Makita HP457D 18V Cordless Combi Hammer Drill

In which case, the quickest and easiest way to try what I suggested is to get a couple of PP3 batteries (which are 9V each) and wire them up in series like this: (which will give an 18 supply)
    maxresdefault.jpg
and connect the two output wires to the Makita battery, red to positive, black to negative and leave it connected for about 5 minutes.

keep a close eye on it as although the PP3 batteries are small, when connected to the discharged battery they will still be able to deliver 4 to 5 amps for a short time and will warm up noticeably.

It might not work but it will only cost the price of a couple of PP3 batteries.

Interestingly the Op never returned to this thread (dated jan 19) but is still active so may be worth sending a pm

Have you tried the method above?

You'll get nowhere with asking B&Q to help, as the batteries have been left flat which isn't their fault. :)

    Hello
I am in same boat. Same model same battery and dead as not charged. New and never used. Anyone found any solution to that or tried the above-given option. Any suggestions, please.
    thanks
