I have had a Revolut card for around a year and used it often. Just been on a business trip and in the last few days the card was blocked as was access to the app on my phone (it would only allow me straight to online support).
When I asked them to reactivate my account they fobbed me off with the same message of account requiring a security review, no timescale or reason why.
After few frustrating messages to them, I asked for the balance to be sent back to my nominated bank card while the review was processed. Within minutes the 'review result' was available and I was kicked out or account discontinued. I have no idea why!
I have now been banished from talking to online support and cannot access my funds via the app or card. These, apparently, are being transferred back. Totally unfair treatment in my view.
Conclusion, don't use them!

Many people use them without issue.
This seems like a one-off issue for some reason - although they do have a right as to who they do and don't want as customers0 -

Clearly they don't want you as a customer, what have you done that's dodgy?0 -
Worried Jim
That seems apparent, the problem is I don't know what I've done wrong. Just been on business trip and all this started! I'd like to find out though, so started a complaint, FOS in 8 weeks and counting!0 -

Where have you been? Any sanctioned countries? Iran, Burma, Sudan etc?
Made any transfers to people from these countries? Maybe without realising?0 -
FOS won't make them tell you why they've closed your account.
Focus your efforts on your credit files and CIFAS instead.0 -
Well its unfortunate many people in this forum start with the comment "you got to have done something dodgy". I feel there is something extremely wrong with the systems being deployed in UK and they are far from perfect. Banking sector in UK just make decision without getting in the hassle of asking question and verifying things. I myself is a victim of this system so at least i am certain on my part that many innocent people are victims of banking system.worried_jim wrote: »Clearly they don't want you as a customer, what have you done that's dodgy?0

FOS won't care and you won't yield any results from it.
Check for CIFAS markers and if needs be open another account with Starling or another FinTech bank0 -

But whatever the situation, the organisation can decide to stop doing business with anyone, just as anyone can stop doing business with the organisation.Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.0 -
I had issues creating an account they kept asking for photo ID, repeated many times I do not have photo ID.
Response no problem send a copy of your passport photo. That went on for a while. Eventually they said transfer money from your bank aco!!!! and it will be fine. That didnt go well either. Eventually they sorted it just as I was about to give up.
Seems they are trying to push for more customers at present, a few promotions ongoing, a puzzle why they blocked you and as mentioned you probably wont find out. If its a mistake they may re-instate it, but otehrwise its dead.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
