We are still in the process of buying our first property and we'd like to install a dish washer and a tumble drier but there is probably not space for both luxuries, so plan b is to replace the washing machine with a washer/dryer - I have no experience of using one of these and want to know if they are worthwhile?

Mine does annoy me, I have to say. The drying capacity is so small that a single blanket brings on the 'overload' light.
Funnily enough, I'm considering doing away with my unused dishwasher and replacing it with a tumble drier.0 -
Buy a heated clothes rack dryer instead of washer dryer. I have a Lakeland one and it far cheaper to run than a tumble dryer. Of course you need somewhere to put it and plug it in.0

Will that not generate condensation? It is something to consider though, thank you0 -
A long time ago we had a washer dryer, it was not great but did the business took longer than stand-alone drier and more to break-down. Hopefully, things have moved on.
Get a standard washing machine and mini drier one of my siblings has that, ok for two people especially the socks and things like that that take yonks to dry if no drier

I think I might have found a solution - we could potentially put a separate tumble drier in our conservatory which would mean we get all 3.0

Thank you for the update :T:T0 -
I have recently changed from a washer-dryer to separates.
My experience is washer-dryers break down rather soon and are not that efficient at drying.
Our separate dryer is not plumbed in but has a reservoir we we empty, so you may only need a power socket.Decluttering awards 2025: 🏅🏅🏅🏅⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️, DH: 🏅🏅⭐️, DD1: 🏅 and one for Mum: 🏅0
