CN22 customs labels on thermal printer RM

Hey all,

I am looking to get a thermal printer as Im replacing ink very often, but was wondering how CN22 customs labels are handled when printing from Royal Mails click and drop?

With a regular ink printer if the label has a customs label attached it will print it straight after, is this also the case with a thermal printer, or will I have to change the settings to print it each time?

Thank you :)

Same here, I find it much easier.

Don't forget the new rules for overseas post and origin codes is now in force as well - possibly only for businesses, but it isn't entirely clear.

  • Yeah sadly I cannot order those as my account does not qualify :( Could I print the CN22 on the same size label then cut it down?

Could you possibly find or create jpeg of a CN22 then reduce it and copy and paste it?
  • I think that would be the best option and I could probably fill in some of the details as the products are the same. Thank you for your help!

Thanks for mentioning this soolin. Here's a link which I've just googled for anyone else who like me was blissfully unaware.

Assuming OBA customer via Click and Drop there is a setting for printing the CN22 and it comes out on a separate 6x4 label (in the same sort of size as the CN22 sticker with the bottom quarter of the label being blank).

With the correct details provided the CN22 will be automatically filled in (just needs a signature, not sure if you can upload a signature to Click and Drop for them to use, would make sense).

Failing that you can just find a picture of the CN22 online and print them on the thermal labels from paint or the like.

  • Yeah I saw that printing option and decided to order the zebra printer to test it out as it looks very promising! Would be even better if I can add a signature to it also as you mentioned :)

Just to clarify Royal Mail no longer offer the labels free to click and drop non OBA accounts right? As I did have a business account but that no longer has access to the store due to a recent update.

That's correct, if I can find the thread where it was discussed I'll add it here, it changed at the end of last year.

The Zebra printer is marvellous , I love it, one of the best things I've bought for my business. I get free labels for it, but I asssume you will be stuck on the 'wrong' business account and won't be eligible again?

Here's the earlier thread, I'll bump it as well so that other affected users will be reminded.
