I am Currently self employed but earning below the NI threshold, I had intended to pay voluntary contributions. But now that I'm filing my tax return I'm wondering if it's worth it as I am in receipt of child benefit so I will already be getting credits for my state pension?

Yes you will be getting Class 3 credits towards your state pension if you are the person receiving child benefit for a child under 12.

If you were to pay self employed Class 2 contributions these count towards more than state pension https://www.gov.uk/national-insurance/what-national-insurance-is-for but this may not make it worth paying them.Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.0 -
Remember that currently most people only need 35 years of cont. to get the SRP in full.0
