How much to offer on property?

Not in my personal experience.
If a buyer thinks a seller isn’t remotely serious then it’s a rational decision and. It a “flounce”.
Of course it suits your agenda to troll......boring...
So the many examples on this property forum of people putting in low offers and eventually getting the house are made up?0 -

I think in many cases it will be true, depending where the seller lives of course.

No idea which examples you are talking about
I expect the anecdotes are not made up but represent a small number of individual cases and “eventually” sounds like stressful and lengthy delays.
Personally I’d want to base my research on more than a couple of anecdotes, for example some proper research on the selling prices and the difference between asking and selling.
In most of the country (with London being about the only exception) the stats show prices rising.
If you have some stats that are pertinent then put them up.
Btw - I got full asking price before the property I’m selling went on the market Q3 2018 Bristol.
A true anecdote but not that useful on its own I don’t think.0 -

So we can assume that it is something you don`t want to be true?0 -
I have paid the asking price about 10 years ago as it was the house I wanted and an offer of just under was rejected so didn't feel like wasting time
I have a strategy when offering .. I tend not to insult a buyer by making it ridiculously low and I do my homework beforehand and go from there0 -
So it's not from personal experience, and it is something you'd just like to be true, because it fits your agenda. Thanks for the clarification!Crashy_Time wrote: »So we can assume that it is something you don`t want to be true?0 -

That link doesn't have anything to do with whether you're just making stuff up about how people react to very low offers, and you know it.0
