Surveyor Quote Problems.

I have recently booked a Homebuyers survey via a Company on the web, cost being £420.00.
A week later I received a quote from the same Company for £315.00.
I asked them to explain why I was charged £420, reply being it was a mistake to send it to me, and that it was a Christmas offer, but nowhere on the quote did it refer the price to being a low cost Christmas offer.
It seems to me that figures are just pulled out of the air, and does not seem to be how a professional firm of surveyors should behave.

Yes. Why are you getting yourself a cut-price survey from a two-bit internet company when you are considering spending £00s of £000s?I have recently booked a Homebuyers survey via a Company on the web, cost being £420.00.
So you have a quote and you accepted it yes?

Ignore.You've already accepted the earlier quote.
I asked them to explain why I was charged £420,
What doyou mean 'charged'? So far you've only mentioned quotes. Two of them. One which you accepted.
reply being it was a mistake to send it to me,
Mistake to send what?
* the 1st quote?
* the 2nd quote?
* the 'charge'?
and that it was a Christmas offer, but nowhere on the quote did it refer the price to being a low cost Christmas offer.

I've just happily paid £600 for a survey from an RICS surveyor who spent time talking to me before the survey, discussing my specific requirements, produced an in-depth report which ignored things I told him I was planning to rip out (kitchen, conservatory) and commented specifically on things I planned to change, and also was happy to spend 25 mnutes discussing the report by phone after I'd read it.
Well worth paying a bit more and getting a professional service.......0
