TV Wall Bracket Newbie

Options
Just bought my first TV wall bracket having never fitted one before at the ripe old age of 24!

Slightly confused, it's for the little ones bedroom and she has a 19' Digihome TV. I have looked on the back of the TV and the only recesses that I can see for screws to enter are in the shape of a square arond 3in x 3in.

I've bought this bracket from Currys;

https://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/tv-and-home-entertainment/tv-accessories/tv-wall-brackets/logik-ltss17-tilt-swivel-tv-bracket-10154643-pdt.html#srcid=11026

Thought it would be fine and 'generic' as it states fits 10" to 26" TV's.

I've then read about the 'VESA' which I'm guessing from reading is to do with the fitting sizes of the screws?

Please can someone advise as I'm a little lost.

Thanks in advance, a very confused Dave.

    Does this help?

Looks like the square on the back of the tv. On monitors, you loosen the 4 screws, remove the square bracket from the back of the tv, and replace it with a new square... I am sure there is a Youtube video.

For this size of screen I have only found 2 common sizes of square bracket.

Thanks, definitely helps and they do look a lot more like they'll fit my TV.

I'm more so looking to find out if I'm right in thinking the bracket I've bought is no good or if I'm going mad?

I think you take the wings off to make it 75 x 75 which is your 3inch square

So rather than having the wings attached, I just fix the square straight to the bracket? It seems like it could work that way?

I've got a nearly identical bracket which was bought without the 4 extension arms which was used on a 19" tv. I think the arms on yours are optional and there to make it fit a wider range of sizes.
  • Thanks so it’s right in what we’ve discussed above? I just need to ignore the wings and try to screw the plate to the back of the TV and fit to the bracket?

Specs on your bracket say it supports 75mm fittings so +1 to what @tonyh66 and @Norman Castle say - you should find without the wings the holes are correctly aligned.

Remove the wings then try it for size on the tv. If you've got a choice of screws use ones long enough to be secure but not so long they damage the inside of the tv.
With that bracket fit it to the wall then lift off and attach it to the tv then hook it complete with the tv back onto the screws. Thats the reason for the keyhole screw cut outs.
  • Gents, I’ve looked at some alternatives as wanted to plug a firestick in the back of the TV and the previous will be too flush to the wall to allow it.

This bracket states TV’s from 23” although mine is a 19”, it states on the specs that it supports 75x75 VESA? So that means it would be suitable?

If so I’ll grab one today. Thank you.
