Sorry, I've no idea with this one. There were several singer/songwriters who died last year, but I've no idea which one it is. I wondered if it was Aretha Franklin as she only had one number one, but she had several top thirty singles.

Yep, Charles Aznavour fits the numbers better.
He only had two UK hits and the only one that made the top 30 was She, which topped the charts for 4 weeks.0
