Part Exchange Persimmon advice

Hi,
We are currently in the process of buying a new home with Persimmon. I asked about movement on the asking price or to have some of the extras thrown in and I was instantly told no, they won’t even cover stamp duty etc. The reason being is that because we are looking to use the PX scheme, they class this as an incentive and won’t offer anything else.
Is this correct? Obviously I didn’t want to press on the matter to much as I wasn’t sure how true it was, would appreciate any info from people that have used this scheme with Persimmon and actually managed to get anything out of them.
Thanks in advance.

I don't know about Persimmon specifically, but yes I would generally view part exchange schemes as an incentive in their own right - there's a potentially significant cost/risk to the developer.0

It's all down to how well properties of that type are selling on that dev. No more, no less.
If there's a lot of demand, they know they'll find another buyer if you don't want it.
If there's not a lot of demand, they'll be keener to sign you up.0
