How would that save me money? Because I don’t have the money for the balloon available and thinking i’ll get my pants pulled down over the service book

As i said in my first post, if you're otherwise happy with the car, i'd consider taking out a cheap loan (there are loans at less than 2.9% APR) and paying off the residual and running on at it.

You shouldnt get your pants pulled down if you trade the car in over the service history. There may be some difference, if they pick up on it, but not a whole pile.

For future reference - and no doubt i'm preaching to the converted - if you lease or PCP in future make sure you stick to the servicing schedule. Its not your car so you must adhere to their requirements.

Saves you money because you aren't paying another 3 years worth of premiums just to have a second new car vs paying off the balloon and owning the car

Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.
