Budgeting advance

Hi, I have been claiming universal credit for 7 1/2 months and due to a few unforeseen expenses I am planning on applying for a budgeting advance. My worry though is when I first started my claim (before my first payment) I received an advance payment of £1000 which is still being deducted as £85 per month. I know you aren’t eligible for a budgeting advance if you’re still paying one off but is the advance payment the same thing? Thank you

It depends what the budgeting advance is for, as a budgeting advance can only be given if it's to keep you in or help you gain employment.
Best option would be to book an appointment with your work coach if you have one or use the journal to send a message to your case manager.
Other option is to access your account and click apply for advance and see if it will let you.0
