Icesave in bed with Bradford and Bingley?

Having recently opened both a B&B Internet Saver and Icesave accounts a remarkable similarity has emerged. The User ID formats and account numbering schemes for both banks are so close to identical that it cannot be a coincidence. The fact that an email enquiry to Icesave was met with a thunderous silence only reinforces my belief. Strange also that the two banks headquarters are near neighbours in Newcastle Upon Tyne.

So what? Well, my concern is if B&B is accepting Icesave depositor's cash should B&B ever go belly-up is there adequate protection for Icesave account holders?

Maybe Icesave just outsourced their online presence and customer service to B&B to get easy exposure to the UK market. I'm just speculating...
