Hi all,

I the keeper have received a postal parking charge notice for a driver parking in a disabled bay in a Tesco Express car park.

I have read the Newbies thread and other threads but they all relate to the Horizons PPC, however I received a letter from PPS LTD.

I went to the Manager and he informed me to email head office and he will cancel it if they tell him to.

At the moment I am unsure whether I should whether I should appeal using the BPA format as the only way to appeal is via email, or whether I should email the head office, or do both.

Please help, thanks!

Edit your post to remove information about who did what. The Driver parked in a disabled bay. The Keeper got the NTK.
Only ever refer to The Driver and The Keeper, who are two different people.
Do this before you do anything else.

If The Driver didn't know they were in a disabled bay then the signage must have been inadequate, mustn't it?

Complain to the store's CEO, and send the appeal template to the PPC. Please confirm the full name of the parking company.

Driver was in a rush so didn't notice they were parked in a bay twice the size of all the others. :(
The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.

poor marking and inadequate signage perpetuate the sc@m

as do the fact that some TESCO store staff do the dirty deed, ie:- self ticketing

How can you say this with any certainty when the OP hasn't even stated where this site is?

Some disabled spaces are the same size as non disabled spaces.
Some disabled spaces are not clearly marked as disabled bays.
Some non disabled spaces are considerably larger than others in the same car park.
Some disabled spaces have dual makings such as internationally recognised disabled sign on the ground and parent and child space on the metal sign in front of it.
Some spaces with yellow lines and yellow internationally recognised disabled symbol on the ground also have white standard markings painted on top of them, and vica versa.

Do you know the OP and know exactly where they were parked?

I do not condone the misuse of disabled parking bays, but neither do I condone unregulated parking scammers who deliberately set out to deceive motorists by using inadequate signage and ground markings.

If the markings are indistinct, the OP needs to get some photos of their own - now!

If it was in the hours of darkness, so much the better. Take snaps in the same light conditions as at the time of the parking event.

But the salutary reminder to everyone is .... if you're not entitled to park in them, just shift your motor a few yards further away and don't be a lazy a rse.
