Yes, well ring them up and argue your case on that basis, - pleased to hear that n power refunded your over-payment straight away. So long as that keeps up you cant really go wrong.
    good luck with it
If a man does not keep pace with his companions, then perhaps it is because he hears a different drummer. Let him step to the music he hears, however measured or far away. thoreau

Biggest mistake was going direct debit with a company with a history of emptying bank accounts. Personally I'd close that bank account, open another and pay quarterly over a counter.

Got this resolved today, raised a complaint, and armed with the facts refused the increase as their estimate is way out of line given recent consumption. Direct debit reduced to £80. Its a little higher than before, but I received a refund, so that will cover the extra for a few months.

Short version, can give more details if needed.

Signed up for an nPower fixed tariff when we moved into our new house end of June. Direct Debits set at £73 per month. Some to the end of Dec they have issued us a refund of £118 for over payments during this period, and now wnat to put up our direct debit to £118 per month!

They are estimating we will use £1300 of energy in the next year despite only using £257 in total since the end of June to end of Dec. I feel that this estimation is way way too much, and would like to fight it.

Have spke to ucstomer services who are adiment that this is correct. What can I do to take it further?
