Auditory notifications android phone intermitent

Options
This phone of mine bought about 18 months ago, added several Ring cams to my phone the other day as well a yale app. The alerts of the written type appear but the audio alerts are intermittent ie hit and miss happens to my texts as well as well as whats app.

My hubby has a more modern phone and is a iPhone and he has never encountered these probs even when he added the Ring cct's and Yale systems just before xmas.

TIA :)

Is there any common thread to auditory notifications? (e.g. when the screen is on they come through, when it's off they don't). You might need to look at Battery Optimisation and allow certain apps to to ignore it.

I'll ask the obvious question ... notification volume isn't muted sometimes? ;)

    It might be the settings.
I've seen on some android phones (Like on my old stock android Nexus 4) they have an option in the settings to only notify you once per app (or on every incoming message or none at all).

So say you get 3 emails (and you don't check it when the first one came in) it will only send an audio notification of the first one till you check your Notification screen.
