Mouse problem

As the title says. I keep closing tabs using the left click button on the mouse and it more often than not will close more than one open tab. I just wonder if it's a dud mouse and I need to purchase a new one or is there some setting I may be able to change to rectify this? I haven't been able to find the solution as yet. Thanks.

If the computer is a Windows system you should be able to go to Control Panel > Mouse and adjust the sensitivity.0
