Kenwood or Currys

Hi I purchased what I thought was a Kenwood fridge freezer last year - there is a problem with it but when I contacted Kenwood they said that the product I had bought was manufactured and sold by Currys and to contact them. I told them that I would not have bought a Currys/DSG own brand item and felt that I had been deceived by them and Currys. Apparently this is OK as long as Currys are selling under licence. How are customers supposed to know which company we are buying from?? Surely there should be a prominent notice on each fridge or product in Currys stating the manufacturer's name so we can at least have a choice.

What made you choose the Kenwood brand in the first place? What did you think you were getting? In any case, your contract is with the retailer, not Kenwood.

A quick search on the internet will tell you the background of most of these brand names.

I think it is reasonable to assume that you are 100% wrong that currys manufacture anything and you are being a bit unrealistic

A lot of big names have other companies manufacture on their behalf
The mighty Miele do not as I understand manufacture fridges but use Liebher ( and Miele used to rebadge Bosch and still may do in USA !)
Dell and HP laptops and Apple ipads are likely made by Foxcon

    The list goes on.

As said your consumer rights are with the vendor not the manufacturer .
