I had a good weekend thanks, was supposed to go to Berlin before Brexit but it wasn't viable at moment so I was taken to the isle of Wight which was nice as its a fairly new relationship and I'm learning that I should enjoy it when someone wants to treat me, as I have now had confirmation that I am being retired on ill health as of this weekend so I won't have the income to pay my way even if i wanted too, as I need to protect my pension for when I am actually retirement age.

it doesn't rain it pours as I'm now in the vicious cycle of applying for Universal Credit filling out forms confirming my disability and how this impacts my work prospects going forward and the loss of housing benefit as I'm now a claimant of UC but not anywhere near getting a payment, and lost working tax credit now I'm not employed...

add to this a three week stay in hospital due end of April, its a wonder how some people actually prefer to apply for benefits its making me stressed and I'm one of the deserving ones after working since I was 16 and being unemployed after 12 years in my last employer.

I can't let it get me down I was born fighting at 26 weeks I will continue to fight....

    Hey Westie
Sorry I've not been on here for a while so I haven't replied to your message.
I'm sorry to hear about your health and all the issues with the benefit system. I have a very close relative who's in a similar situation to you. They've worked solid since leaving school some 25years ago and due to an accident followed by failed surgery twice they are now no longer able to work and taking over 50 tablets a day. They felt they had to prove they couldn't work, and wasn't just someone pretending to be in need. They were initially declined PIP but appealed and received the higher rate. I truly hope that you have a better experience with them, but if they don't understand at first then do appeal. On a brighter note, I'm glad you had a lovely trip away and I wish you every happiness in your new relationship xx

    HI Littletinks,

Sounds like me and your close relative are in the same place, many of my issues recently was due to a botched operation which has forced me into chronic pain condition.

Hopefully it will all come out in the wash, even though I can't really see the wood through the trees yet.
