Missing CCJ

Have joined this site as now planning on saving for a mortgage in the next 2 years. Have checked, check my file and clear score and as expected both are showing a low credit score.
Around 8 years ago, I took out an overdraft to the max of £2500. I know it’s no excuse but due to losing my job and becoming badly depressed, I buried my head in the sand and never paid this back.
Two years ago I received a letter from the bank stating that they were closing my account due to non payment and no activity on my account but that they still required debt to be paid. Wrong I know but again I ignored this, due to being unemployed and still unwell, I could hardly afford to survive never mind paying it off as every month there was £30 interest so debt was never going to go down. I spoke to bank who refused to help me and said nothing they could do.
A year ago I received another letter stating my debt was now a CCJ against me by a debt collection agency. I did contact the bank to try appealing this with a complaint due to me having asked for help but they said the debt would stand. I did contact the debt collection agency and said I would set up a direct debit but felt I would not have enough money in account to pay it.
A year has passed and no money has been taken and no more correspondence from bank or debt agency. On both check my file and clear score, I can’t see any ccjs and it’s not showing any court reports. I have also paid £10 from government site to check for ccjs but again that’s showing nothing.
I wanted to clear anything I had on my credit report to increase my chances of getting a mortgage but why is the ccj not showing anywhere. As much as I would have paid it now if it was there, I don’t want to look to much into it with chance of it getting added but at same time am I missing something that is going to bite me when applying for the mortgage?

Did you receive court papers?
Or was the letter from the DCA just a threat of a CCJ?0 -
It looks as if the DCA were not telling the truth and you don't actually have a ccj.
More to the point, what is showing on your credit files in relation to the actual account?0
