UKPC and 'County Court'

Last March or April I was given a notice for not buying a parking ticket at a car park. I was parked in a small industrial park area which had always been free as far as I know, there is a small paid car park over a small river next to the area with signs leading all the way to it but none for the car park I was in. Now there are the incredible small UKPC signs there.
Anyway, I checked at the time and everyone on here and a few people I've spoken to have said to just ignore it and the few letters they send to try to scare you. Didn't hear anything else other than that up until I saw that I have a County Court claim on my credit score for the notice and that I apparently had a court date on the 12th of April which I had no letters about, official or otherwise, and nothing has happened. I would just forget about it like I have been doing but just wondered what everyone thinks about the fact its on my credit score and the fact there was (apparently) a court date.

they are not going to have time to issue a court claim in the same month that the driver parked up, or the previous month for that matter
edit the post above to remove any hint of who was driving, use the DRIVER and KEEPER when referring to what happened
then read up on £255 set aside if you want the CCJ to be removed from your file0 -
Everyone on here told you to ignore it?callumhoe73 wrote: »I checked at the time and everyone on here and a few people I've spoken to have said to just ignore it and the few letters they send to try to scare you.
I don't believe anyone on here would've suggested you ignore a parking charge in 2018.
I don't believe anyone on here would've suggested you ignore a parking charge since the law was changed in 2012.

Those dates don't make sense. It would take around 6 months (as a minimum) between parking contravention and a court hearing.I apparently had a court date on the 12th of April
Can you show us where we ('everyone on here') gave you that information? Did you really ask us? As this is your very first post on the forum I can't see where you previously asked us for advice. Or is it a handy opportunity to lay off the blame for your misfortune to us?Anyway, I checked at the time and everyone on here and a few people I've spoken to have said to just ignore it and the few letters they send to try to scare you.
Or was it just your barrackroom lawyer friends that advised you down the pub, and this was just the ideal encouragement to bury your head in the sand?
Please confirm that it was not this forum that provided you with the advice to ignore this. Let's get off to a good start. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.
