Hello
Happy new year everyone.
I was wondering if anyone could offer any advice on my situation regarding our leasehold agreement. I apolgise for any misuse of terminology on my part.
We moved house 20 months ago to a new build which has a 250 year leasehold. Reading alot of content on line it would appear it is best to purchase it if possible before it is sold on to a 3rd party.
1. Can you apply to purchase the freehold of the land owner within two years of purchase?
2. Could the land owner sell it before the first two years has lapsed?
3. If they were to sell it on to an investment group would they have to notify us that they had?
4. If dealing with a solicitor how much would they charge typically in the north of England to administer such a process?
5. What typical timescales are involved to purchase a leashold off the freeholder?
Thank you.
