Do you think the Dyson would be more cost effective to run during the day rather than this heater?
Burn £10 notes, you can obviously afford it if you are considering a Dyson, one of those costs 2/3 of my annual electricity bill !

A cheap oil filled radiator or thermostatically controlled panel heater, as being sold in all the supermarkets at the moment, will be more than sufficient for your needs in the bedroom. Fair enough if you don't want the storage heater in the bedroom, quite unusual to actually have one in there, but not using the main room heater is a false economy. Using on peak electricity for heating will cost you money. Heating with electricity is not the best option but storage heaters are the most cost effective way of doing it.

Agree with molerat, why you would consider a Dyson heater over a £10 Hyundai fan heater out of Poundstretcher would be the first consideration, as the purchase price alone would cover a good couple of months if not more of electric usage on saving on the unit purchase price.

As for instant heat vs night storage it would also depend on your occupancy situation in my experience. We had NSH in an old flat, but because we were out at work all day when we got back in at 6pm all the stored heat had pretty much dissipated so was pointless using them. They may have just been old and garbage as would be associated with a cheap rental flat. If you are in the property all day from when you wake up the NSH would provide a good level of background heat all through the day.

If you are cold at night an electric blanket would do the trick cheapest as already stated but I have found putting a fleece blanket between yourself and the bottom sheet works wonders, so much so we haven't actually turned our electric blanket on yet this year. Also, sleeping in a bathrobe will keep you extremely warm all night as another cheap option.
