Scrimping our way through

147 Posts

Well I never thought I'd be here again, but things happen. We had to move and buy furniture for the new place, and we have a second baby due in a couple of weeks and just buying all the little bits fpr all that and Xmas adds up. I'm not working atm, but I feel so responsible for getting us here. Hopefully this dairy helps me keep on track! Already looking at all the challenges and I feel hopeful.

So much healthier than I thought, but we put the most we can away in our Help to Buy ISA and it's other stuff I end up buying which becomes a problem. Also my husband only just got this promotion, so things were a lot tighter until this month. I'm feeling optimistic.

Thanks! It's such a good way to start the year. This new promotion with much needed extra income and a new baby in 10 days time. It's why I wanted to book the holidays already. They've come up a bit more expensive than I would have liked, but we got nice places and we really wanted to start taking our son out for holidays with the extra money, I'm not even that fussed for going abroad. Especially with a baby, a train or a car is much easier on us.

1.89 for an app
10 for DH flu jab
16 for an airer
1 for paypal code (I think this gets refunded though)
41 for take aways as we had a friend over who brought us lots of treats and helped me entertain my toddler, so we got her a take away.
Although I did get £602 for my Woolacombe bay deposit as the place was booked. I might just get a week in a caravan park in Wales, some place by the beach as that'll be cheaper and maybe 3 nights in Devon a bit later on. So I need to figure out how much to put back in the holiday fund.
My parents have taken DS1 out as DH has an awful virus and I'm getting very tired, hormonal and iritable with the poor guy. So I'm happy they agreed to take him out, he really needs a good run around and to be fussed over.
Okay, well lots of washing to do today but DH brought back another airer yesterday so I'm happy.
We have the second box of the dresser coming from IKEA tomorrow, so I'm looking forward to that being all set up this weekend. We ordered it last week and they forgot one of the box so I was pretty annoyed as I have all these baby clothes in boxes lying around with no where to put them.
The kitchen is a bit of a mess as well, but DH is sleeping and we're in a small flat so I'll probably leave it to later. Maybe I'll do a bit more crochet or get some much needed sleep.

I'm so tired this morning as I couldn't sleep last night, DH had to take DS in the morning and I got a nice lie in until 8am and coffee in bed. I felt bad as DH is not well at all with this virus, but I have been taking the toddler every morning for ages and since I had morning sickness we were taking turns when I felt bad. And I've been feeling knackered theb past 2 weeks, I didn't suffer with exhaustion quite so bad last time, but I didn't have a toddler last time. Oh well, a few dishes to do and rotate the clothes and I'll get dressed and take him to play group for an hour or so.
