PIP Reassessment.

My award ends in September 2019, and as expected I received the standard reassessment form in October which I returned about a week later. I have heard nothing back since. Is this normal or should I give them a ring to check they received the form back?

It's perfectly normal, if they hadn't received your form then your PIP would have stopped.

Waiting times vary in all areas, depending on back log. Some wait weeks, while others wait months. Expect another face to face assessment as most people have them. Your existing award will continue until a new decision is made.
  • You could be waiting a long time. I applied for PIP, moving from DLA, had my assessment 9 weeks ago. Phoned them yesterday to be told they are 19 weeks behind and to wait.

You could be in a totally different area to the OP. All areas are different. There's not really any timescales.

    Good luck with your claim.

My advice is to send it by Special Delivery and print out Proof Of Delivery. Job done!

    Happy New Year everyone.

I was once advised by the DWP never to return anything be registered post, just get a POD from the PO is all you need.
  • Sorry I'm just curious because my friend is also on PIP which ends around the same time; why would you get a reassessment form a year early?

That’s what they invariably do. It means there is time to carry out an assessment and make a decision before the existing award ends.
Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.

Completely pointless and a waste of money sending to DWP by special delivery. All mail going to DWP has to go through a mail sorting process. This means that it's signed for by someone from Royal Mail and can take anything up to 1 week to arrive at the department it's meant to be after being signed for.

Paper work sent to DWP is know pdf format after been scanned at Telford or Kidderminster.

    https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/574585/new-dwp-postal-addresses.pdf

When you ring dwp up about your claim they are looking at scanned copies of paper work you sent in...

Original paper work is then stored in Huge warehouses...
