Lisa, you should see my "yarn store". Seriously, I am nearly at SABLE (stash acquisition beyond life expectancy). I need to knit 6 jumpers and 12 pairs of socks a year for the next 3 years, to get anywhere close to using it up.
Save your coupons for things you can't make from stash.

Hello to all,
I'm still on minimal coupon spend. I honestly just can't even be bothered to shop for clothes so that's helping immensely LOL
I finished my leg warmers. I can't figure how to add a picture via my kindle so here's a link to them on my Pinterest board. Quite happy even with the glaring errors I made

Wow, I love those! Still waiting for my book with the crochet leg-warmer pattern to arrive... might have to chase it up, it was apparently dispatched a week ago.Angie - GC Aug25: £207.73/£550 : 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 26/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)0 -

They look lovely. I adore the colours, too.

The legwarmers look so colourful and cosy!
I'm knitting myself some - I wasted 2 coupons on cheap yarn, tempted because it was cheap and sparkly - yes, it was cheap for a reason, grrr... they fit when newly-washed and not been put on, but as soon as you just stretch them enough to go over your foot, that's it, they don't go back. So I have two big loose floppy tubes that slump down behind my heels over my shoes and even managed to trail in the mud behind my bulky hiking shoes! Useless!
I've got one knitted in proper decent wool, and it's so wonderful I'm wearing it around the flat even while I'm still knitting the otherIt saves on that draughty feeling between pyjama leg and bedsock, and I often wear leggings under my big skirts and these usefully fill the gap between them and my ankle-socks, because even "full-length" and "plus-size" leggings are made for people who are size-6 and with a 20-inch inside leg and I am neither
I'm knitting in dark-grey wool DK with a strand of lovely dark-red lurex thread as well2025 remaining: 37 coupons from 66:

I've previously made leg warmers from the sleeves of big old wool jumpers; if they are properly joined on, rather than overlocked, you can unpick them & have a decent edge to work with. But I didn't manage to get to the best local jumble sale last year so wasn't able to source a suitable jumper to replace them with, as they'd suffered moth damage in my Great Alpaca Disaster - was storing several bags of alpaca for our Guild of Weavers, Spinners & Dyers, but sadly it hadn't been well-kept & I ended up with a moth problem - hopefully now resolved. I've also made a short stripey wool skirt from an old jumper, which worked well and was lovely & warm, but sadly went the same way.
The book's arrived and the leg warmers look very do-able, provided I can remember I'm working in American...Angie - GC Aug25: £207.73/£550 : 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 26/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)0 -

I wish I couldn’t be bothered to shop for clothes!
Leg warmers look amazing, well done.
My knitting of the sweater is not going well. All the needles I bought are wrong, the ‘string’ bit is too long. So I’ve ordered some more but will have to start again. The pattern is American so I keep having to google the terminology. I can’t believe this pattern is classed as easy! It’s quite a step from scarves :rotfl:
I’m aiming for next winter to have it finished
I spent some time wardrobe clearing today and took 6 bags to the charity shop. In the tidy up I located the linen fabric I had been looking for, I have ironed it and cut out the paper pattern. I want to make the Bella dress by Tessutti
My linen fabric is a soft greyish blue, hopefully I can manage it! It doesn’t have a zip so that’s good.
Went through my ironing pile as well today, and got rid of things I won’t wear again. Everything else will be ironed this week. I seem to have a permanent ironing mountain so this will be an achievement!Fashion on the Ration 2020 - 5/66 spent0 -
I see the link hasn’t worked, not sure what I’ve done wrong!Fashion on the Ration 2020 - 5/66 spent0
