Staying on track to be MF and ready to support my daughter at 18

Thanks Cheery and AFK
This is the longest I've been away from work other than for Maternity Leave and it's been difficult to relax into it. Not sure I could even dictate sensible email replies with these drugs. Any marking would probably result in 100+% being awarded.
Very good for NSDs and batch cooking/eating my own food/coffee
Just need to resist the temptation of internet shopping
The trip to A&E, a short stay on a ward, and having an injury has changed my world view somewhat too. Priorities are crystal clear now.
Have to say that the NHS, and it's staff, are utterly fantastic. If any of you MFWers are staff, a big thank you from me!

Good to hear you have sorted your priorities at least :j Enforced rest is never easy - but you're not going to get any better fretting... You look after yourself x0

Another week passed, all NSD's but I think being virtually housebound is cheating.
I did get into the garden to pull out a few weeds, so can walk (well, limp) and bend (gently) now. My frozen leg is slowly defrosting at last. :T
Need to get out of the blue fog that seems to have its grip on me though. More weeding and sunlight exposure should help this week hopefully. Have cut down on the stronger medications now too.
I'm enjoying having more time to read everyone's diaries0 -
Visiting for the first time and so sorry to hear of you not being 100%, hope things are getting better little by little.

Good to meet you Debtfreeoneday
Doing much better this week :j. Took my last pill (hopefully) yesterday and not in much pain now, just some dull aches occasionally. Walking well. Stairs are still a bit of a challenge, but getting easier gradually.
I did like AFK's take on this - "your health is your wealth" - and I'm going to try to turn things around after this wake up call.
No surprises, another NSD week while recovering at home still. Amazingly, still avoiding the lure of internet shopping. Though I did book a week summer holiday for end of July (pay at check in though). We are staying in the UK again (we haven't left the country for about 5 years now) to keep it cheaper/a modest holiday. Part of it will be visiting relatives too.:)
Been batch cooking with healthy pasties first, chicken and sweet potato tagine next...:D
Done some light gardening too. The tomato plants are flowering now. Some plants that my father-in-law gave me as small plants are coming on and starting to flower now too. The lilies are opening. The garden looks rather nice at the moment

I'm glad your on the mend
I used to wonder what they meant when they said that
and it's not until your not 100% health wise that it occurs to you.

And another week with NSDs. :j Still cheating by being at home.
Did treat my daughter to some new trainer/boots and a computer game though, but she deserved a reward after doing lots of revision without us having to push her at all. Plus, it was payday, yay!!:T
Managed some more gardening, house cleaning type activities and have started going for short walks around our neighbourhood. I had asked if I could start a phased return back to work next week but my line manager didn't reply, so I guess I'm home for the whole of next week too. What a hardship!
All sorts of serious issues seem to be kicking off at work and I've had yet another upsetting experience personally. I've lost count of the number of times I've been upset about things at this workplace. It makes me feel so frustrated and gloomy. At least I know my CV is in good shape because I applied for a couple of jobs and was offered interviews. Now I have to try to stay sane, keep that CV perky, and wait until my daughter finishes her A levels in 3 years time...it sounds like so little time in relative terms, but when every day at work (and even on sickness leave too apparently) is a miserable experience it seems like an endurance event.:o It's a shame too, because I don't want feeling miserable to taint these 3 years that may well be the last years our daughter is at home with us before she spreads her wings.
Meh. Still, it's the weekend and looks like it will be a sunny oneMore walking ...

Some big milestones reached this week :j:j
The mortgage has dropped below the £30K mark and that is 5 months earlier than I had hoped. It just shows what you can achieve if you really stick at it (or become obsessed with the O/Ps!)
All the hard work at slimming universe is working too, dropped out of the obese into the overweight range this week:T It is a constant battle mind you. The batch cooking is certainly helping both my waistline and our finances.
And finally, I was back at work on a phased return. So a few days initially with the other days still working at home. I'm not sure if this is aor a
. Mixed probably. Holiday week planned for the end of the month, so will focus on that...

Long, irritation filled week at work but stuck to the batch cooked lunches. Shelled out for two coffees though, had to buy them as a favour for their time:)
Spent the weekend doing batch cooking for lunches and gardening. Two more weeks to holidays...:T0
