Staying on track to be MF and ready to support my daughter at 18

Middle of the month blues because I can see that I won't be able to make the high level of o/p's that I've achieved the past few months. We are going to a wedding and the we had to book a hotel room for the event at a seriously inflated price. Then we have a gift to sort out too. Very spendy event. I'm going to try super hard on all the other spends and saving everything possible elsewhere. Maybe I can squeak out a bit of an o/p...:money:0

It's still early days, just think of the months when you o/p more than you thought possible :Aand all these home made lunches, where would you be if you couldn't be bothered to take the lunches into work
That's why I made my goal for the mortgage balance each month to end in zero's, that way it's very flexible, so not how much you op but the target is zero's at the end, how many is up to you.
And what this with an interview in another country - what I dream of, well living in another country, not actually working there :rotfl:
Someone asking what I would be doing for my (big) birthday next year, so got me thinking , maybe go over for a whole month if I'm still working by thenAlways have 00.00 at the end of your mortgage and one day it will all be 0's :dance:MF[STRIKE] March 2030[/STRIKE] Yes that does say 2030  Mortgage Free 21.12.18 _party_Now a Part Timer from 27.10.190 -
Look how much progress you've made already! :j :j three months knocked off, brilliant! :money:
It is vexing when you can't do as much as you like but even a small but will help and you'll be able to get back to it again soon. You're doing all r the right things - keep going!0 -
Thank you for encouragement AFK and Cheery
The realities of working abroad make it seem less desirable now AFK. It was a scandinavian country, so sensible politics and fairly social place to live but I found them a bit aloof. Plus, they were openly mocking in two of the stages of the interview, so I already decided I didn't want to work there before they notified me that it was mutual. It would have helped my career survive post brexit, but I've decided to bunker down and hope for the best. Moving would have messed up all our financial stability and plans too. Being openly belittled/mocked at an interview isn't a great confidence booster. I can also feel that I'm behaving weirdly back at my work as a result. They didn't know that I went for an interview but I feel professionally hurt/wounded?!
Anyways, while this month is a tricky one, I will focus on the progress already made, as Cheeky says. Plus I can do the 0.00 rounding too.
Thanks both for picking me up0 -
Shame about the interview, it's maybe just the Scandinavian way of interviews
Don't let anyone make you feel mocked/belittled, you are the better person, as for work, surely that would make you feel you are in a better place where "people" don't mock or belittle. Sometimes it's nice to look at everyday work with fresh eyes, and be grateful for where you are.
All that said you did give me a bit of a giggle with your typo, it was a typo - wasn't it?? :rotfl::rotfl:
Hopefully Cheery, will think soAlways have 00.00 at the end of your mortgage and one day it will all be 0's :dance:MF[STRIKE] March 2030[/STRIKE] Yes that does say 2030  Mortgage Free 21.12.18 _party_Now a Part Timer from 27.10.190 -
Oh heck! :rotfl: Definitely a typo.
In my defence, when I think of Cheery, I also think of chickens. Put the two together and maybe that's how I arrived at that.
Sorry Cheery :eek:0 -
We'll start with the positives in that I had 9 no spend days in a row :j:j
Unfortunately that's down to being whooshed into hospital and flat on my back in bed the entire time. Today is the first day of sitting almost upright, though I can walk on a slightly jelly leg.Slipped disc
It's been a real wake up call for losing weight. I'm not huge but losing the extra weight I do carry will surely help prevent such painful repeats. Ironically, I had joined Slimming universe two weeks before and had lost 4 pounds in those two weeks, averaging over 10K steps a day. Then ping and ouch! Or more of a scream actually.
I missed seeing my daughter as one of the bridesmaids at our friends wedding too, I couldn't travel (or sit up, or stand). DH took loads of photos for me.:)
Lesson learned - lose weight!!!

:j:j Jumping characters because I'm personally still a long way from jumping myself.
On a near perfect NSD record run but it is cheating because it is still back recovery time and I' held mostly captive in the house. Signed off work for another 2 weeks and not being a very patient patient. It's the first time something like this has happened and I feel eaten up by guilt at not being at work. I feel like a fraud, that there is nothing wrong with me.Which is completely daft because I can hardly walk 25 meters and am drugged up to my eyeballs. Flying even. :A
One big spend that wasn't expected though - the lawn mower croaked and needed replacing. Looking forwards to being mobile enough to get out and do some light gardening...til then, reading and telly it is I suppose.

Oh good grief ElmoR!  What a calamity!! Don't you feel guilty one JOT - what on EARTH would you do if you were in work?! You wouldn't even be able to get there for a start! They'd have to put a bed in the office (or shop, or whatever) for you, and then someone would have to read out all your emails, and then dictate replies, and you would be a complete liability. FAR better to stay home and rest til you're properly better!
And as for calling me Cheeky - you aren't the first:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Omg - you "sound" so much worse than me, at least I'm not confined to bed. Hope you are not in too much pain.
Shame you missed the wedding, but at least all the photos are there to see.
Don't worry about work, easy for me to say, as I too worry about work, but then again, they should have full staff quota - I wouldn't then feel so bad.
Take it easy.
ps At least Cheery is still talking to youAlways have 00.00 at the end of your mortgage and one day it will all be 0's :dance:MF[STRIKE] March 2030[/STRIKE] Yes that does say 2030  Mortgage Free 21.12.18 _party_Now a Part Timer from 27.10.190
