Electric fireplace heater or Boiler for heating

As per a previous post me and my partner moved into a new flat a few months ago and got a big shock when the first electricity bill came. The flat is all electric, no gas, and we ended up using 5000kwH of energy in 10 weeks. We've come to the conclusion that a big part of this is due to the boiler being 9kw.
Now onto my question. We bought an electric fireplace heater off facebook marketplace, for a bit of rustic decoration, and didn't turn it on due to people warning us about high electricity useage. It doesn't have a wattage on it but by doing some research, similar ones use about 1800w. Just by doing the maths this seems like it would be a much cheaper way of heating our 1 bed flat? Please correct me if i'm wrong.

I guess the difference is your heating system heats your whole flat. You elec heater will give you instant heat at a cost in one location but it will disperse relatively quickly and you won't have a consistent temperature throughout.
General behaviour would be to leave the heater on longer when you feel the chill. This will be more likely if the whole flat isnt consistently heated and the heat being generate is being stolen by other rooms.
Did you monitor the usage of your boiler over a week or so with a consistent temperature on the thermostat?0
