cheap smartphone for use as satnav

title says it all - old satnav broke, would like new one with live traffic, but price of dedicated satnav with live traffic horrific . I don't currently have a smartphone (I've an old nokia 108 I love which has no internet etc), so can't use that, plus many satnavs e.g. garmin's seem to need a smartphone to provide the data for the live traffic.
So what are the options for a cheapo smartphone (or tablet with SIM) which I could use only as a satnav? Can a low spec phone manage or would I be tearing my hair out going round and round the roundabout waiting for it to tell me where to go?
any suggestions gratefully accepted!

think any smartphone would work, I use Navmii, but there are several out there that would work on most inexpensive smartphones. Just need one that will have enough space to either download the maps to phone, if youre not wanting to use google maps via internet for example0

even sthg really cheap - eg this one https://www.argos.co.uk/product/8065470 for £35?
Has 1.3GHz processor 0.5GB RAM
how much storage would I need, most phones seem to come with at least 8gb - or that one can have 32gb sd card
or theres this nokia one for £60 - https://www.argos.co.uk/product/8142757
has 1.1GHz processor and 1GB RAM
Thanks a lot!0 -
Much better to have large internal memory on phone than Sd card0

so say 8gb internal memory? if no apps other than google maps and waze, would that leave enough room for maps? I just have no idea what type of space would be good for this0 -

cheaper option than the phone, so depends what's more important really0 -
I have used Waze on a smart phone and its quite easy but if you want live updates I think you will find you will need a sim witha mobile data included in the plan. I would imagine other satnav apps also need mobile data for live data.0
