How to get insurance quote when retired but still doing ad-hoc work?

Is it possible to get an online (hence cheap) car insurance quote for someone who has retired from NHS employement but still works up to 8 days a month on what is called 'the bank' and gets paid for the ad-hoc hours worked? The person would need business cover so I can't put 'retired' as the main occupation and I don't recall seeing any opportunity to enter the above scenario?

What is wrong with "employed" ?Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0

I'd just put myself down as employed - you're employed by the nurse bank but choose your shifts.0

technically your are part working 2 days a week, i would put your employed, anything else could be fraud territory"It is prudent when shopping for something important, not to limit yourself to Pound land/Estate Agents"

No main plus part time occupation choices ? I certainly remember being given that option.0

The online comparison sites are great if you fit into their boxes, but can't cope with anything even slightly out of the ordinary. You need to ring the insurer - start with the company that comes out top for someone doing your job full-time. And don't forget that there are insurers that aren't on comparison sites but often come up cheaper. No longer a spouse, or trailing, but MSE won't allow me to change my username...0

If you are still working, you are not, by definition, retired.
If you are working, but not full time, then you are working part time.
Part time does not only cover say 2 hours per day, but can also be for example, 2 days per week.
In your case you still work up to 8 days a month.
