Am yet to read through my lease fully before signing but remember a section stating rent will be reviewed yearly, increases will be in line with RPI with a minimum of 0.5%

If your looking at shared ownership don't forget to see if there are any near you that don't have to pay any rent on the bit you don't own as this can save you quite a bit of money.
  • Correct me if I am wrong but I thought that the only time you did not pay the rental part was if you purchased 75 percent as an older buyer on the OPSO scheme?

There are some shared ownership schemes where you pay no rent on the unowned part as they are run on a charitable/not for profit basis and I've seen several properties at 50% ownership.
