renault clio warning lights

Hi All, 2009 Clio extreme petrol- the electronic fault light & the "spanner" light just came on today. Googled it and there are various reasons for this. No other problems but didn't risk driving it. This morning switched on the engine and the lights have gone! What could cause this and should I get it checked? The car runs fine. The light looks like a couple of "squiggles" & I haven't got the manual to hand.
