Good Morning All, just looked out on another mild and grey day though not complaining. Am off to Knit and Natter soon, only a short walk from my home, be nice to meet up with friends and see what kind of a Christmas they have all had
Afterwards need to walk to the local shops for fresh bread as may be getting visitors over the weekend no need for any other food shopping as still have a fridge full to use up.
Then home to bake a cake, didn’t do a Christmas cake this year but got a great bag of mixed fruit that had been soaked in brandy so have made fruit cakes in a two pound loaf tin as and when needed for visitors.
After all the activity I hope to put my feet up and get on with some knitting.
Have a good day everyone, it’s nice to read what you are all doing0 -
Morning everyone,
Bit late to the party today but had a rough old night so slept in a bit this morning, thanks for the start Dumpling, all those plans sound very positive and good that you & Lee can support each other.
Not too much planned for today, didn’t change the towels yesterday so will need to do that but that’s about the level of excitement expectedwill get over to see Princess Pony at some point too.
Enjoy your mini party TRU, take care all and have a good day x0 -
Just having a coffee whilst killing time waiting for the next bus up from town. There's a blooming gale blowing out there but I am ready for off so I will brave them.
CRANKY I got quite acquainted with the shops of Liverpool ONE when Bob was undergoing treatment at the Royal Liverpool but, do you know what, I don't recall seeing one charity shop! Are they hidden away somewhere? I may have to take you up on your offer one day!
GERS, like MM, I watched the new Grand Tours last night too and fully expected to see you ambling along the Argyll coastline with Paul Murton! I love his programmes and they make me long to be up there again.
Well coffee finished and time to get my coat and boots on ready for the 9.30 bus. Bye folks - again xxxx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0 -
Morning ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one.
Enjoy your day TA. Positive thoughts Dumpling. Gers sorry to hear you Mum is not doing so well, it must be a worry for you. Nanny - hope you are feeling a bit better.
Start of preps for the New Year, a quick whizz round the bathroom and loo, will do the floors when I use the steam mop on the kitchen floor. Tomorrow night everything we have been wearing will go in the wash bin, mammoth wash on Monday, I may do a 30c wash with colours and whites, doubt there will be enough for a full load of either. Bed change and bedroom clean Monday, will also do the floors as above. Sitting room will get a swift push over of the dyson and it will have to do. I know I will be crackered when its done, but it has to be.
I have decided to start on next years Christmas presents, dresden place mats done in the hoop on the machine, my neighbours son and his wife admired the hanging I gave his mother, so they will get one..........I can use up some of the bits I have laying about. The place mats are a bit fiddly so need to allow time to do them.
Need a quick trip to the PO we are cashless, and the new TV Choice is out.
Its a bright morning but quite windy, if its the same on Monday I should get some of the stuff dry outside for a change.
Bacon, egg etc for supper tonight, have creme brulee for dessert.0 -

I'll catch up with Grand Tours later today when in Glasgow. Loch Awe is spectacular, especially as it has the Hollow Mountain high above it. I take all my guest there.

I have been up most of the night with a cough. Can cope with a cold but I hate getting a dry tickly cough as it tends to take my breath away. Thank you for your well wishes but please keep them coming. I am hoping this is the worst day of this cold and cough.
Dad phoned this a.m. to ask us out to lunch, he certainly has caught the Xmas spirit and long may it last :j. Unfortunately I'm wrecked so we will have a rain check, he will come over tomorrow as planned though.
I did empty the washing basket and get it all dried but it isn't put away yet, so that's on my "to do " list today. There are more things on that list but I'm not sure if I'm up to doing much today, we will see. I might just sit and cough on the sofa :rotfl:. I haven't even sorted my pressies yet and they are still in the bags under the tree !
Candygirl I hope your tummy gives a result soon . Trapped wind can be very painful.
TA enjoy your time away from home in the fresh air.
Csarina cash ? what's that ?I can't seem to keep any in my purse
Dumpling Good luck, we will back on the weight loss band wagon too after the new year. Can't possibly start before then as DD has invited us down to share an Indian takeaway ....... well it would be rude to refuse :rotfl:
Gers so sorry to read about your DM. PLease give her a hug from me.
Right I have to go and dose myself up.......... again. I'll have to clean my laptop too as I've been spluttering all over the screen.
Take care and hugs to all.
nan xxFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently0 -
dumpling and Cranky, I need to join in, the weight has piled on since Steve's diagnosis. I won't be able to start until after the New Year though as we will be having guests until then.
We're at Steve's sisters now and I slept the clock round, think I have some sort of virus. The phone rang at 7.00 last night and it was one of the clinical nurses from Bedford checking a couple of things and suggesting a more logical order for Steve to see the consultants. He was due to see the Bedford consultant a week on Monday and the Cambridge consultant on the Wednesday, instead the Bedford one will see him on Thursday or Friday, apparently he doesn't have clinic those days but will see Steve. I've said it before but the treatment we've received has been fantastic.0 -
